Herb Roasted Turkey

 
 

Ingredients

1 16-18 lb. Turkey
Your favorite spice blend for poultry

 

Directions

Tie Turkey w/ Roasting twine and secure all loose sections. Coat the exterior with olive oil, sea salt, fresh cracked pepper, and roasted garlic. (You can also use thyme, rosemary, and/or tarragon.)

Never stuff your turkey!!!!!! Place In the oven on convection at 325 for 2 ½ to 3 hours (depending on thickness). Check internal temperature for 160 degrees, then remove from heat and allow to rest on carving board for 8-10 minutes. Thin slice and serve.

TIP: Cook breast side down for the first 25% of your cooking time. Then flip over and continue to cook for the remainder of the time.

If you are using a thermal oven or regular bake allow for an extra 30 minutes of cooking time. Also, convection roast is a similar method to convection, however you will want to cover your turkey for more of the cooktime.
